Peacebuilding 2013: ‘Pacem in Terris’ at 50 (old post)
Peacebuilding 2013: Pacem in terris at 50, is a major conference on the continuing importance of the 1963 encyclical Pacem in terris. It will be co-sponsored by IPR as well as many universities and academic institutes, notably the United States Institute of Peace, Caritas Internationalis, Catholic Relief Services, Pax Christi International, Sant’Egidio Community in the United States, Trinity Washington University, USCCB Office of International Justice and Peace, University of Dayton, University of Notre Dame Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, University of St Thomas, University of San Diego Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, and others.
Speakers will include Cardinal Peter Turkson,who heads the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace. Additional information on speakers and other conference details is available here.
